il Faggetto is the ultimate wood fuel for pizza ovens. Designed from the ground up as the perfect food-grade wood fuel for wood-fired ovens. This ultra-compressed wood briquette is made from 100% dry beech, with no additional binders or additives, and manufactured using the latest briquetting technology.
il Faggetto marries together the best of tradition with modern science and technology. The briquettes are chemically and bacteriologically certified for the cooking of food.
Because of the low moisture content and nature of the briquette, they burn hot, long, and consistent each time. They can be used whole or broken into pieces making them suitable for small and large ovens, making them very economical.
Our unique process of manufacture modifies the combustion balance between convective and radiant heat. This means you need less quantity of briquettes to generate the heat for the oven compared to firewood logs and other briquettes, and maintains the oven at a constant temperature. Our briquettes will typically produce 80-120% more heat for the same weight of kiln-dried logs. This makes them very cost-effective.
il Faggetto has been tested and endorsed by leading oven manufacturers and pizza chefs in Italy and around the world. They are perfect for fixed, mobile, large domestic and commercial wood-fired ovens.
